Adrian Lawrence is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA), a BSc graduate of Queen Mary, University of London, and the founder of the Capital Recruitment Group — a network of five specialist finance, accountancy, executive and board recruitment businesses operating across the UK.
His career spans more than 25 years across finance leadership, business advisory, corporate governance and executive recruitment. Before founding the Capital Recruitment Group, Adrian held senior finance roles across a range of sectors including technology, transport, professional services and fintech — giving him a direct understanding of the finance function from the inside that is rare in recruitment.

Adrian qualified as a Chartered Accountant through the ICAEW’s rigorous ACA training programme and subsequently attained Fellowship — the highest grade of ICAEW membership, awarded in recognition of sustained professional achievement and contribution to the profession.
His career as a working finance professional before founding the group means he approaches recruitment with a perspective that career recruiters cannot replicate. He understands what a good Financial Controller does under pressure. He understands what a Finance Director needs from a NED. He understands the questions a PE investor asks of a CFO in a board meeting.
